DPS Bhilai celebrates 32nd Foundation Day

The 32nd Foundation Day celebrations of Delhi Public School Bhilai were held in the Risali Sector School Complex in the august presence of M Ravi, Chief Executive Officer, Bhilai Steel Plant. The other dignitaries who graced this occasion were –Biswarup Saha, Pro-Vice Chairman, SMC, DPS Bhilai & GM I/c (Mills), BSP, Mrs & Mr S Sahukar, Member, SMC, DPS Bhilai & DGM (Marketing), BSP, Bhilai, Mrs & Mr Pradeep Bharathan, Member, SES, Bhilai & DGM (Projects-PCC), BSP, Mrs & Mr K Vinod Kujur, Judge, District Court - Kabirdam, PS Alma, Additional Collector, Sushma Saxena, Member-Secretary, SES, Bhilai & AGM, BSP, Bhilai, Coopted Member, SMC, DPS Bhilai – Dr Rajkumar Agrawal, Mrs & Mr Saurabh Sinha, DGM (CSR), BSP,  Rajkumar Sharma, Principal, Shri Shankaracharya Vidyalaya, Hudco, Renu Vashishta, Members of the PTA, Press, Parents of the Prize Winners and other distinguished invitees.
The programme commenced with the presentation of bouquets and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp accompanied by an invocation by Shashwat Chakraborty (X-I) and Rishabh Kalgaonkar (X-I) to lend an auspicious start to the events scheduled for the day. The Principal in his address welcomed the distinguished guests. The School Magazine “Dipsview” was then released. This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony for the meritorious students who were awarded for their academic excellence.
Speaking on the occasion the Pro-Vice Chairman, SMC, DPS Bhilai & GM I/c (Mills), BSP, Biswarup Saha said that he was privileged to be present for the Foundation Day celebrations. He congratulated the meritorious students who were awarded prizes, for their achievements. He continued by saying that DPS Bhilai was a premier educational institution of the state and students studying there should make the most of the opportunities they receive. He concluded his speech by exhorting those students who were to leave home for further studies to always stay in touch with their parents and keep them informed about everything at all times.
The Chief Guest M Ravi, Chief Executive Officer, BSP, began his speech by complimenting and congratulating the school fraternity for having created such a beautiful ambience and maintaining a wonderful garden spreading greenery all around. He explained that it was a dream of his to have a "Green Bhilai" and DPS Bhilai was a role model for others to follow. He advised the students that they should work hard and utilize their time wisely as there was no substitute for hard work. He motivated the impressionable minds by telling them that they could achieve whatever they dreamt of. He concluded his speech by stressing on the role that parents and teachers played in a child's life and said that whatever he had achieved in his life was largely due to his parents & teachers.
The cultural programme began with the rendering of the school anthem Khwaab and the students who were part of this mesmerizing rendition were – Yash Lalwani XII-J (Lyrics Composer & Rap), Tanvi Pande XII-J (Music & Singer), Aman Madame XII-B (Guitar), Jashraj Singh XII-J (Guitar), Anmol Thakur XI-H (Drummer) & Harsh Karmakar IX-D (Key Board). The next item in the list was a dance “Shakti Ek Aawaahan” that dealt with the power that a woman could wield. The participants were – Anshul Naik (VI-E), Armaan Jain (VI-E), Dhritee Motghare (VI-E), Aanya Selvaraj (VI-H),  Amrutha (VII-H), Dipanwita Chakraborty (IX-A), Raveena Gopalani (IX-A), Khushi Ballan (IX-B), Sheikh Afroz (IX-C), Amitesh Behera (IX-D), Reema Chowdhury (IX-D), Anmol Jain (IX-E), Birajeeta Mandal (IX-E), Anupma Tiwari (IX-G), Prema Khobragade (IX-G), K Jonita (IX-H), Vaishali Dubey (IX-J), J Sojwal Kore (VIII-A), Tanishk Jitendra (X-B), Yashashvi Krishnan (XI-L) & Steffin Shibu (XII-G). The dance was conceptualized by Rani Jacob &Arunima Ghosh (XII-L). It was coordinated by Latika Rajan, Rani Jacob, Rani Rina Jain and Yogita Selvaraj.
The folk dance Chhattisgarh Ke Rang with its rhythm and melody held every one spell bound. The dancers were – Osika Sahu (VII-A), Hershika Rungta (VII-B), Peehu Mandrik (VII-B), Darakhsha (VII-D), Maitri Khatri (VII-D), Keshar Sahu (VII-D), Sharanya Bala (VII-E), Rishita Sarkar (VIII-A), Tanishka Borkar (VIII-I), Darshika Sippy (VIII-D), Himanshee Meshram (VIII-E) & Hansaja Dwivedi (VIII-G). The dance was choreographed by Latika Rajan. The The Hindi Skit GST - An Insight provided informative & entertaining ideas about the newly introduced tax. The participants were – Anirudh Methi (X-B), Mehul Nahar (X-H), Sai Kiran (X-H), Gaurav Agrawal (XI-K), Yash Singhaniya (XI-K), Parva Vaidya (XI-J), Shantanu Agrawal (XI-J), Archit Agrawal (XI-L), Yashwardhan Rathore (XI-B),  Neil Dethe (XII-A), Farhan (XII-J), Y Rohit (XII-J), Sashreek Rudra (XII-K), M Sai Jahanvi (XII-L), Vaidehi Palsokar (XII-L) & Y Radhakrishna (XII-L). Bhushan Sao was responsible for the concept and direction. The play was coordinated by Bindu Mockoul, Rupesh Kr Ray and Dewesh Kumar. Anmol Thakur (XI-H) was responsible for the sound recording and effects.



The thematic dance Rishton Ka Tana Bana depicted the anguish of a child whose parents had no time for him. The artists were – Abhijeet Mistry (IX-B), Deepshi Paul Xalxo (X-E), Nikita Sahu (X-H), Anmol Shah (XI-K), Devansh Sharma (XI-K), Yashavi Krishnan (XI-L), Khushi Chawla (XII-L), Ishika Dang (XI-K), Rajul Surana (XI-L), Lakshit Jhanji (XII-G), Steffin Shibu (XII-G), Swasti Patoria (XII-K) and Diva Sondhi (XII-L). This was conceptualized by Lakshit Jhanji and the teachers I/c were K Satheesh Kumar and Binsi Prince. The dance was choreographed by Lakshit Jhanji and Steffin Shibu.
Enchanting interludes was provided by Nishant Meshram (XI-J), U Harshita (XII-H) & Harsh Karmakar (IX-D) - flute, vocal and tabla recital. This was coordinated by Sushil Kr Dwivedi. Ishaan Tiwari (XI-E), Ashim Basak (XI-J) & Lakshit Jhanji (XII-G) entertained the audience with their Trip Hop. This was coordinated by Amit Pratap Singh and Vinay Kr Verma.
The entire programme was coordinated by Bindu Mockoul, Activity I/c. The compering was done by Swasti Patoria (XII-F), Sanchit Sanchay (XII-A), Sandesh Dholakiya (XII-K), Veena Chandra (XII-I), Aaditya Kumar (XI-B), Arunima Ghosh (XI-L), Srishti Gupta (XI-L) &Aamin Dev (XI-C). The students were guided by Bindu Mockoul and Priya C Peri.
The programme drew to a close with the vote of thanks proposed by Senior Mistress Middle Wing Mousami Roy and concluded with the National Anthem.
